The IRS has updated the W-4 withholding form. Exemptions (0, 1, 2, etc.) as they were historically defined no longer exist. In order to complete your W-4 accurately it is advised you go to the IRS Tax Withholding Estimator. T he IRS goal is to have withholding more accurately calculated throughout the year and the calculator is designed to ensure you don’t have too much or too little withheld.
You may wish to have your Vermont withholdings be different than your federal holdings. If so, we ask that you please complete a separate Vermont W-4 form.
You may change your direct deposit allocations at any time. Please note that it may take up to two pay cycles before your change is made, dependent upon the timing of receipt of your form.
